Kayleigh Williamson is an amazing and inspiring woman with down syndrome from Austin, TX. With the goal of improving their health Kayleigh and her mom Sandy embarked on their running journey in 2016. What started as a personal challenge has since blossomed into a passion and a way of life. Over the years, Kayleigh has not only embraced running but has also used it as a tool for growth, self-discovery, and breaking through barriers in order to inspire others.

Since starting her running journey, Kayleigh has achieved groundbreaking milestones, becoming the first woman with Down syndrome to accomplish several remarkable feats. In 2017, she made history as the first woman with Down syndrome to complete the Austin Half Marathon. Five years later, in 2022, she became the first woman with Down syndrome to finish the Austin Full Marathon. Kayleigh's determination didn't stop there—she continued to break barriers by becoming the first woman with Down syndrome to run the prestigious New York City Marathon, both in 2023 and again in 2024. Each of these accomplishments has not only showcased her incredible perseverance but has also inspired countless others to push beyond their own limits.

Her story is one of persistence, joy, and breaking barriers, showing others with and without disabilities that anything is possible with belief, hard work, and a refusal to be defined by anything other than one's own will to succeed.
